Working in Partnership with other organisations

Rainbow Services is keen to work productively and for mutual benefit with other local organisations and agencies. Examples of our partnership working are listed here. Clicking on each of the organisation names will redirect to their webiste.

Harlow District Council

We have worked well with Harlow District Council for a number of years. As our core funder, we have developed a great working relationship and were pleased to be named the Council's 'Partner of Choice'.

Voluntary Action Epping Forest

In April 2008 Rainbow Services and VAEF will be jointly delivering the FAIR Project - support for local organisations in both Epping Forest and Harlow with seeking funding and information provision.

Harlow 2020 (Local Strategic Partnership)

Through facilitating the Harlow Voluntary Sector Forum, we have developed good links with Harlow 2020. Members of the Forum sit on all number of the action groups as well as the Parntership Board.

North Essex Mental Health Partnership

We have worked with Day Services to strengthen our understanding of mental health issues as well as to provide opportunities for local people accessing mental health services to engage in the community via volunteering.

Essex Probation Service

Sharing the workshop space at our Re-use Project with Essex Probation Service is an example of partnership working at its best. Training in basic IT is offered to Community Service Workers and Rainbow volunteers are offered the opportunity to learn woodworking skills.

Essex Police College

We are also developing links with the local police by offering Police Officers in training the opportunity to gain skills and an understanding of local issues affecting the local area via community placements.

Harlow College

We have worked in partnership with Harlow College on a number of occasions i.e. promoting volunteering with young people and National Benchmarking Project focussing on Charter Mark. A regular link with the college is via two student placements who are supported to volunteer in our Recycling Workshop.

Ecco - Text Bac Scheme

Rainbow Services work with and support Ecco in their recycling and re-use initiatives.

Voluntary Sector Training

Rainbow Services is working in partnership with Voluntary Sector Training (VST), an independent charity, to provide high quality, affordable and local training to the voluntary and community sector across Essex.  VST runs an open programme of training covering key topics relevant to the sector and tailored training specifically arranged to meet particular needs of organisations.

Harlow and District Chamber of Commerce

The Chamber of Commerce operate from within The Rainbow Centre and also have representation on their board from Rainbow Services representing the voluntary sector locally.
