Volunteer Opportunities
Rainbow Services has many different options for volunteers which range from office based and administrative work through to retail and practical 'hands on' roles.
We rely on volunteers to deliver all of our services at a local level and encourage their input into how the organisation develops and responds to new challenges – we have places on our board for volunteers representatives.
1. Voluntary Roles at Re-use Projects
- Assisting with the textile project – sorting donations, greeting clients
- Assisting clients with choosing of furniture
- Basic administration duties – making bookings, answering the telephone, using the computer
- Driving/working on eco wagon – collecting and delivering small donations
- Developing skills in recycling workshop – furniture restoration, basic DIY skills
- Working on the furniture van - delivering and collecting larger donations of furniture
2. Voluntary Roles at The Rainbow Centre
- Assisting with basic office administration duties and greeting visitors on reception
- Keeping Resource Library up to date and categorised
- Serving customers in Quigy's Kitchen, our community cafe
- Preparing lunches within Quigy's Kitchen
3. Voluntary Roles on The Rainbow Young Bus
- Assisting with children's activities within The Rainbow Young Bus
