Training Opportunities
Our commitment
Rainbow Services is committed to developing and 'growing' people - staff, volunteers, trustees and clients.
With regard to volunteering, individuals are encouraged to engage in as many opportunities as possible to learn new skills and make the most of their volunteering experience. For many the very nature of volunteering involves learning from others and learning new skills, and is essentially a form of 'learning'.
We aim to offer training opportunities which are interesting and related to what volunteers want to learn about, as well as topics revelant to their volunteering role.

Quotes from volunteers
"I gained confidence in using tools." - from Introduction to Woodworking Skills
"On May 10th, I had a great invitation by Rainbow, being a volunteer to attend an assertive skills lecture. What a great, rewarding day, with a chance to meet other people, who were there for the same reason.
I found a thriving community centre, catering for people in Harlow, called Gateway Centre. Clean, modern and most of all welcoming staff, friendly, discrete but very obliging. Food and drink supplied was first class, a princess for the day.
Assertive skills became a reality, and necessary in every-day life. Particularly when shared and discussed with others in the group. The lady who conduced the lecture was a credit to her profession. To me personally education at its best.
Thank you Rainbow. A grateful volunteer." - poem written following attendance at an Assertiveness Workshop
"I've learnt about myself and how to deal with interviews." - from Interview Skills Workshop
