Social Action and Volunteering

Social action and volunteering have many health benefits as well as being ideal ways to develop new skills, try out possible career pathways, meet new people, and simply have fun!

Harlow has a thriving range of organisations offering volunteering roles.  If you are interested in finding out what opportunities are available for you, click on the links below:

Volunteer Centre Harlow – the Volunteer Centre can listen to your requirements and aims and advise you on volunteer roles across the town which might suit you.  For more information, visit the Harlow Volunteer Centre website  or call Della Nash 0791 007 5101 or drop by the Rainbow Centre at 2 Wych Elm.

Time Credits programme – many organisations offering volunteering opportunities are signed up to an exciting programme called Time Credits.  This enables you to earn one credit for each hour of volunteering you complete with a registered organisation, which you can then save up and spend on a diverse range of activities across Harlow.  You can find out more about Tempo Time Credits on their website .  For information about the Harlow programme click here.

Start your own activity – got an idea for an activity or a neighbourly project you would like to set up?  Ask us how we can help you to make this happen – contact Kelly Tarling, our Community Builder, on kelly@rainbowservices.org.uk

"Rainbow is a terrific organisation, I'm amazed since I have been with them how much it's grown and what a difference it's made to so many people's lives. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend friends and family to their services"
